‘Brexit Readiness’ Tool Launched for Irish Businesses

A ‘Brexit Readiness’ tool was launched online to help businesses prepare for the UK’s departure from the EU at the end of the year.

The Enterprise Ireland Brexit Readiness Checker gives guidance on the steps companies need to take, based on their circumstances. There is fewer than seventy days to go until the scheduled transition period.

The online tool includes several questions in relation to how prepared the company is. Topics include customers procedures, finance and currency management, movement of people, data regulations and strategic sourcing.

Once the form is completed online, companies receive individual reports which offer advice and tailored resources.

Businesses located in both the EU and the UK have been complicated by the fact the trade talks have stalled. At this late stage, the terms in which Brexit will occur are still unknown.

Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Leo Varadkar has said “Regardless of what happens between now and then, there will be significant changes to doing business with the UK”.
