Reminder: Income Tax Return Deadline Approaching

Reminder: Income Tax Return Deadline Approaching
As we move into the final quarter of the year, now is the perfect time to get organised and start preparing for your 2024 Income Tax Return. Getting organised now means less pressure later — and more time to take full advantage of any tax-saving opportunities. At Gallagher Keane, we’re here to guide you through the process and help you stay ahead of the deadline.
Key Deadlines to Remember:
-
Standard Deadline:
The deadline for filing your 2024 Income Tax Return (Form 11) and paying any tax due is 31 October 2025. -
ROS Extended Deadline:
If you file and pay using Revenue Online Service (ROS), you have a bit of extra time — the extended deadline is 19 November 2025.
To qualify for the ROS extension, both your return must be filed and the payment made through ROS by the extended date.
Who Needs to File?
You’re required to file a Form 11 if you are:
-
Self-employed
-
A PAYE worker with additional income (e.g. rental income, investments)
-
A company director
-
A person with foreign income
-
Claiming certain tax reliefs or credits not handled through PAYE
If you’re unsure whether you need to file a return, we’re happy to help you clarify your obligations.
Why File Early?
Filing early has several benefits:
-
Avoid last-minute stress
-
Have time to gather any missing documents
-
Reduce the risk of late filing penalties
-
Gain better visibility of your final tax liability — and more time to prepare for payment
