Key Irish Tax Deadlines: May 2026
At Gallagher Keane Chartered Accountants, we work closely with clients to ensure deadlines are managed efficiently, particularly where multiple tax heads fall due within the same period.
Key Date to Note
For May 2026, the primary filing and payment deadline is 23 May 2026 (ROS). This deadline applies to a range of routine obligations, including VAT, PAYE, PRSI, USC and Relevant Contracts Tax.
Businesses not filing through ROS should be aware of the earlier 19 May 2026 deadline.
VAT
VAT returns and payments are due for the March April period for bi-monthly filers. Ensuring that transactions are fully recorded and reconciled in advance of submission is critical, particularly where there are complex or high-volume entries.
PAYE, PRSI and USC
Employers are required to report and pay payroll taxes for April through Revenue’s real time reporting system. Accuracy and timeliness are key, as delays or errors can lead to immediate compliance issues.
Relevant Contracts Tax
For businesses in construction and related sectors, Relevant Contracts Tax returns and payments are also due in May. Given the ongoing nature of subcontractor payments, maintaining accurate and u- to-date records is essential.
